Question:
After I chipped a ball out of a bunker, I discovered it wasn't
mine. Am I allowed to touch or lift the ball in a bunker in
order to identify it?
Answer: A player
isn't permitted to touch or lift a ball in a hazard for the
purpose of identification. In turn, you're not penalized for
playing a stroke at a wrong ball in a hazard. |

Question: My ball
comes to rest on the fringe a couple of inches behind the ball
of another player in my group. Both balls are off the putting
green, and hers is directly in myline of play. How should I
proceed?
Answer: According
to Rule 22, you may have any ball lifted if you think it might
interfere with your play. Thus, the other player marks and lifts
her ball, you play your shot, and then she replaces her ball.
(Note: she is not allowed to clean her ball under this circumstance). |
